Alpine II
The Smart Solution
Digital technology is improving our lives in many ways. The Alpine II marks the next step in digital hearing instrument technology, but certainly not the last.
The Alpine II digital circuit, with AutoLogix, is among the elite group of enhanced, or smart, digital products. It offers the most advanced digital algorithms, in an efficient, streamlined software design.
The smart digital circuit design of the Alpine II features easy-to-use software and sophisticated algorithms designed to maximize patient comfort and communication, even in difficult listening situations.
The versatility of the Alpine II design will assist you in successfully fitting your most challenging patients and provide them with an improved ability to enjoy the sounds of life.
Four WDRC channels, plus eight band level controls offer precise and flexible frequency shaping.
Channel-specific Expansion gives relief from circuit noise and low-level environmental noise.
Memory-Pro allows customization of one, two or three programmable memories.
Digital Feedback Reduction Algorithm minimizes feedback without compromising the gain or frequency response.
Dynamic Noise Control Algorithm reduces steady-state noise and enhances speech.
Directional Response improves signal-to-noise ratio.
Touchless DiRx adaptive algorithm turns directionality on and off automatically.
Touchless Telecoil simplifies phone use automatically.
Available in a full range of models — from BTE to CIC.
High-Fidelity Digital Circuit
A careful system design has resulted in low distortion, wide bandwidth, low circuit noise and expanded dynamic range, handling inputs up to 105 dB SPL without overload.
Four WDRC channels offer three-dimensional fitting flexibility — gain x frequency x input level — combined with long, five-second compression time constants to optimize sound quality.
In addition, eight discrete band-level adjustments offer precise and flexible frequency shaping. Fast Fourier Transform analysis gives sharp boundaries between bands to accommodate unusual audiometric shapes and potential nonfunctioning cochlear regions.
Dynamic Noise Control Algorithm reduces steady-state noise and enhances speech, based on calculation of an Envelope Statistic Value, which reflects the moment-to-moment signal-to-noise ratio.
A Digital Feedback Reduction Algorithm minimizes feedback without compromising the gain or frequency response. Static mode is set at the time of fitting; dynamic mode monitors for feedback and adjusts the algorithm based on the feedback environment.
Channel-specific Expansion gives relief from circuit noise and low-level environmental noise, an excellent benefit for sloping high-frequency losses with normal low-frequency hearing.
The optional DiRx Digital Directional System was optimized on KEMAR, rather than on a coupler in the free field. Automatic low-frequency equalization maintains the same frequency response shape in omnidirectional and three directional modes.
Telecoils are amplified and fully programmable, ensuring a strong, customized telephone response. Furthermore, Micro-Tech’s Touchless Telecoil option switches the telecoil on and the microphone off when the wearer holds the phone to the ear.
Memory-Pro option allows the fitter to activate one, two or three programmable memories, depending on the preferences and abilities of the wearer. A programmable tone signals the switching from one memory to another.
